Background
The EIF had set-out to ensure that their staff were equipped with the knowledge and skills to use Co-Pilot in their day- day work as new licenses were rolled out. A shift in the changing landscape of work and to leverage the use of GenAI in the workplace, the EIF set out to provide training for their employees.
I was lucky enough to work alongside Gianluca. We determined that the core goal was to provide the audience with the opportunity to explore unique use cases of GenAI for their daily duties.
After that we will build on the core prompting process and introduce a framework that would underpin the creation of their own Agents. The Agents would then be shared across departments to help with productivity, creativity and copy writing.
Needs Analysis: A kick-off meeting was help with the head of HR to discuss the audiences needs. However, due to constraints we were unable to find out about the training gap and the level of prior experience, knowledge, experiences or skill level for the audience. It was reported that the audience should be treated as beginners. The EIF wanted to use this day as a core catalyse to show the employees what Co_Pilot could do, and the impact it can have on their day-day work, whilst keeping them abreast with developments in their own professional development
Designing the session: The session was designed using a whole parts approach and my custom Claude Project (see below). Collaborating with Gianluca we decided to break down the session into core parts. The first part to explore the unique use cases of AI led by Gianluca. Then to the prompting process and finally using this underpinning to create agents. This allowed for a smooth linear progression from foundational to more applied levels of Co-Pilot in the session.
Challenges: The main challenge during this training day was 24 hours before there was a change of plans. Originally the audience were meant to have access to the licenses for Co-Pilot. However, these were not fulfilled in time. Hence the late switch to creating Agents in the Co-Pilot Web Browser. A good test of adaptability.
At the end of the session participants were able to create Agents and shared their use cases across their teams and organisation. We received very positive feedback for the session from HR and that the employees had rated the full day very highly. We are currently waiting to hear data back on the adoption rates of Co-Pilot.
