I was hired as an instructional designer to create scripts for a range of topics for a crypto currency start-up called: Brainedge. The team was working AGILE and focusing on producing a large volume of content. In order to meet these requirements I recommend adding in automations as part of the process.
Automated Workflow: Script brief entered into Airtable triggers automation that sends to specialised OpenAI Playground assistant, which drafts outline and structure
Instructional Design Prompting: Uses few-shot prompting and chain-of-thought to apply personalisation principle, active voice, and direct listener engagement
Quality Assurance & Output: Built in Make.com with QA module to check against criteria, producing final script directly into Google Docs
Challenges
Tool Switching: Initially required constantly switching between ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity; needed consolidation into single automated workflow
Prompt Engineering: Instructional design principles require careful prompt crafting to maintain consistency and quality at scale
Integration Complexity: Seamless workflow required connecting Airtable, OpenAI Playground, Make.com, and Google Docs without manual intervention
The amount of scripts we could produce in a day was the equivalent of two instructional designers. This amassed to saving $2,500 per week and provided a large saving on production for the company.
